I’m Linda Rodahl, known as Electric Linda. Born in 1980 and grew up in Stockholm, Sweden, moved to Norway as a 15 year old. I have tattooed since the summer of 2000. I own a tattoo studio in Oslo called Attitude Tattoo Studio. Check out http://www.attitude.no and see one of my greatest achievements ever. I was always “the talented one” in schools. I got the best grades in art, language, and math. I was, and am lucky to have a very loving, supportive family who always told me that I could be anything I wanted, and that the sky is the limit. As a teenager I started to draw portraits of friends and their family, and after a while people would send me pictures in the mail, and I would draw their portraits and I made some pocket money, which I always spent right away on candy or CD ‘ s.
I got my first tattoo when I was 19. When I saw the artist do his job, I got a feeling that I could do the same, since I really loved to draw, and was actually good at it.
Just a few months later I got an apprenticeship at my nearest Tattoo studio, at Personal Art Tattoo in Ski, now called Stay True Tattoo, owned by my mentor “Birdie”. He was like a big brother to me, and showed me the tattoo world by teaching me ethics, morality and all the rules, took me to tattoo conventions and introduced me to other artists. I learned how a coil machine works (before the rotary machines were invented) by taking them apart and putting them back together. I learned how to solder needles and how the soldering can burn your finger, and how the smell of the melting metal burn inside your nose. I scrubbed tubes every day, washed and packaged them in order to be autoclaved, stamped and sorted. Back in the days, we actually used the same needle several times, we just checked them for fishing hooks, washed and sterilized them between use.
In the studio we had loads of books and walls full of Tattoo Flash that customers could choose from. It was unusual that the artist made unique drawings to each customer at that time.
I have won over 50 international tattoo awards around the world and tattooed many celebrities, like Tshawe and Yosef from Madcon, Vinni, Omer Bhatti and Hank Von Hell from Turbonegro.
I’m not a social girl. I love my job, my hobbies and to just be at home with my boyfriend and my daughter. One day I want to have more children, a house and a dog. I’ve always been a bit of a nerd, with my computer games and hobbies. Web designing have always been fun, I have always made my own and Attitude´s websites. Video editing is also a great favorite, and of course music production. I played in a few bands when I was younger, but prefer to work in a studio, singing, playing keyboards, writing lyrics and make beats. I’m done with nightlife and parties, impulsive travels around the world. I guess I’ve finally grown up, in the end 🙂 I have lived the life! In many ways!
